Hi, I’m Georgia, qualified pastry chef and lover of all things sweet. For over 10 years I have worked in kitchens and restaurants in the Yarra Valley and was lucky enough to work in France for a year. In September of 2020, I decided to go off on my own and start my little business pursuing my passion of baking.

From such a young age, all I ever wanted to do was make desserts which I would be constantly making. As I got older, I realised this could be a career and that’s when I decided to attend William Angliss Institute to learn all I could. This led to an apprenticeship and allowed me to apply some of the skills I had learnt.

Years later an opportunity arose to fly halfway across the world and work for a year in France, while I loved the people and food, and had some amazing experiences, I was homesick and missed baking for the people who I cared for most. This ended up being lucky, as soon after Covid 19 reached Australia and borders started closing. At home with a supportive family I decided in 2020 it was time to give it a go and created The Little Sugar Spoon.

I will always be appreciative of those closest to me, who continue to be my biggest supporters and even more appreciative of my customers, as truly without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I love on a daily basis. Each of you contributes to me living out my childhood dream.

I have big plans for The Little Sugar Spoon and hope each of you can follow me along the way, and it will be a journey we take together.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read a bit about me!

Desserts

Desserts were my first passion before cakes. I first learnt how to plate up desserts in restaurants so they will always have a piece of my heart.

I am open to creating any dessert you may wish to have for an event or just a snack. Some of my many options include, but are definitely not limited to:

  • Cheesecakes including basque, baked and set

  • Tarts

  • Brownie and slice slabs

  • Fudge (caramel, cookies & cream, chocolate, coconut ice etc.)

  • Cookies including custom sugar cookies, yo-yos and gingerbread

  • Custard desserts

  • Rich chocolate cake

Quality Ingredients

Only real, raw ingredients are used at The Little Sugar Spoon. Absolutely no packet mixes or premade cakes are ever in sight. Everything is made from scratch and that’s why it tastes so good!

You’ll notice that my icing is cream coloured and not pure white, that’s because it’s made using real butter and no added preservatives. Majority of my cakes are decorated with Swiss meringue buttercream, which is smooth and, in my opinion, better than the more commonly used American buttercream.

Allergens

The Little Sugar Spoon is an allergy aware kitchen, therefore can cater to allergy free cakes and desserts. Although the best care is taken to avoid allergens, please keep in mind that there still may be traces of any allergen due to shared equipment.
